The Van Zyl Hall is the name of the first vaulted chamber in the Cango Caves near Oudtshoorn, named after Jacobus van Zyl, who ostensibly was the first person to find them. The hall has occasionally been used for theatrical performances, including a series of annual Passion Plays in the 1960s (discintu=inued in 1964), a student production of Macbeth in 1967 and the revived, from 1991 onwards the biennial Passion Play, now using a text called Só Moes die Liefde Ly by Charles Fryer.
