''[[Van Arme B.B.]]'' ("Of poor B.B.") is a cabaret-style [[Afrikaans]] production, a biographical overview of [[Bertolt Brecht]]'s life and his works, compiled, developed and directed by [[Johann van Heerden]] from the original German works of [[Bertolt Brecht]] and based on ''[[Brecht on Brecht]]'' by [[George Tabori]].
 
 
Translations of songs from the original German by [[Johann van Heerden]] and some songs translated by [[Hennie Aucamp]].
 
 
1986: First performed in 1986 in the [[H.B. Thom Theatre]] with students from the [[Stellenbosch University Drama Department]]; [[Casper de Vries]], [[Christien Coetzee]], [[Duncan Johnson]], [[Johannes Lochner]], [[Linda Pienaar]], [[Illse Roos]], [[Anine Trümpelman]], [[Jozua van der Lugt]] and [[Kowie-Marie le Roux Kriek]] on piano. Décor by [[Dickie Geldenhuys]], lighting by [[Emile Aucamp]] and costumes by [[Elaine Aucamp]].
 
 
The title is taken from Brecht's 1922 German poem of the same name (''[[Vom armen B.B.]]'').
