Performance history in South Africa

1854: Performed in Cape Town (apparently under the title The Two Bonnycastles, according to Bosman 1928, p408) in late July by the Amateur Company (aided by the Officers of the Garrison) in the Garrison Theatre. Also performed were Charles the Twelfth (Planché), A Peculiar Position (author unnamed, but it was in actual fact a translation from Scribe and Bayard by Planché). The performances were repeated on Friday, 18 August, with the addition of The Honeymoon (Tobin).
