Trudie Taljaard (1948-2009) [1]. Actress.

Biography

She was married to Errol Ross and later to Nico Liebenberg and she had two daughters.

Training

Graduated from the University of Pretoria Drama Department, 1969, where she studied under Anna Neethling-Pohl, dr. Hermien Dommisse, Burgart Robert en Neels Hansen.

Career

She started her professional career at PACOFS.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Her first role was as Kietie in Kanna hy kô Hystoe directed by Johan Botha for PACOFS in 1971.

Trudie also performed in Afrikaners is Plesierig (Flower Power, PACOFS 1971), Bobaas van die Boendoe (PACOFS 1972), Die Rebellie van Lafras Verwey (Petra PACOFS 1972), Olympia en Haar Vryers (Diensmeisie PACOFS 1972), Hond se Gedagte (Olympe, PACOFS 1973), Dubbelspel met die Dood (Louise, PACT 1974), Die Vrek (Brindavoine PACT 1976), Anastasia (Skropvrou PACT 1977, Die Dagboek van Anne Frank (Miep Gies, PACT 1977), Boeing-Boeing (Berta CAPAB 1977/78), Dubbelspel met die Dood (Maria PACT 1978), Die Wonderwerk (Anne Sullivan, PACT 1979), Seer in the Suburbs (1981), two productions of Mooi Maria (CAPAB 1981, PACT 1982), As die Turksvy Blom ("Primavera" van Botticelli PACT 1982), Die Vernuftige Vryer (Madame Barnier, 1983), Die Potlooddief en die Engel (Ma, PACT 1985), Chris Barnard’s Bloed (Dot, PACT 1985), Vat Hom, Flaffie! (Ella, PACT 1989), Kombuis-Blues (1991), Droomsmokkelaar (as Ma, 1993), Die Ander Man (1996).
