Tom Thumb is the name of a short burlesque by Scriblerus Secundus (Henry Fielding, 1707-1754) [1], written in 1730, and later expanded into his more biting satire, entitled The Tragedy of Tragedies, or The Life and Death of Tom Thumb the Great (1731).
