Timothy Heale (19**-). Actor on stage, radio and television, theatre manager and director.

Biography

Born in Somerset, in the West of England. He is married to Margaret Heale.

Training

He trained for the stage at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.

Career

He came to South Africa in 1955 with John Wright’s Marionettes, toured the country with National Theatre, performed with Taubie Kushlick and Brian Brooke.

Tim has been manager op the Reps Theatre in Harare, Company Manager for CAPAB Ballet Company since 1964, General Manager for the Academy Theatre and Theatre Manager for PACT.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

In 1956 he appeared with Brian Murray in Dangerous Corner. He had the role of Sir Hugh Evans in The Merry Wives of Windsor at Maynardville in January 1969.

Performed in Charley's Aunt (with PACT), Shut Your Eyes and Think of England, Birds of Paradise (at the Academy Theatre), Macbeth (as “Old Siward” with PACT), The Taming of the Shrew (as “The Pedant” with NAPAC).

He appeared as ‘Harry’ Harrington in Shadowlands in the 1990s.
