Also called Theatre of healing. A term introduced by Mavis Taylor in the early 1990’s to describe the kind of theatre that could and was being utilized to heal the wounds left by the Liberation struggle and the Apartheid era. Another term used is Theatre of/for Reconciliation. It was the kind of work she sought to do with New Africa Theatre, but also referred to the work of other creative artists and groups.
