The Woolgatherer is a play written by American playwright William Mastrosimone. It deals with a chance meeting between Cliff and Rose, a shop assistant.

It originally premiered at the Theatre at Rutgers University in 1979. It was printed in 1981.

Performance history in South Africa

1992: Ashraf Jamal directed a Makeshift Moon Theatre Company production of the play at the National Arts Festival, starring Chris Biko and Denise Newman.
