It has since gone digital as well with the online paper Sowetan LIVE (also written SowetanLIVE) published by Arena Holdings (formerly Tiso Blackstar Group) in Johannesburg, which serves as the website of The Sowetan.

Until August 2019, the SowetanLIVE website also published content from the weekly celebrity news and gossip tabloid Sunday World.
