Possibly a dance devised by Mr Cuerton, a former performing artist from London, possibly a singing and dance teacher in Cape Town.

Performance history in South Africa

1813: Performed in the African Theatre by Mr Cuerton and the Garrison Players in Cape Town in 6 November, 1813, as accompaniment to their presentation of the pantomime Robinson Crusoe, or Harlequin Friday.
