The original text
Set in Lesotho during the 1970 State of Emergency. Written in 1991 while writer-in-residence at the University of Durham.
Originally written as a TV script and was broadcast by the BBC World Service in 1992.
Adapted for the stage and premiéred as at the Civic Theatre in 1995, directed by Jerry Mofokeng.
The play text first published in Four Plays, Zakes Mda (ed.), Johannesburg: Vivlia Publishers, 1996. Also published by Human & Rousseau.
