by Vanessa Cooke, Fink Haysom and Danny Keogh. A documentary play based on an incident in 1930 in which a Sotho claimed ownership of land in Cape Town to the consternation of white authorities. The authors received the Amstel Playwright of the Year Award in 1985 for this play. Workshopped and presented at the Market Theatre in 1983. Published in Kani (ed): More Market Plays (Ad Donker) 1996.

A film version of the play was directed by Manie van Rensburg and released in 1990. John Kani, Vanessa Cooke, Graham Hopkins, Robert Whitehead and Kurt Egelhof starred in the film.(Business Day, 15 May 1990).
