The Most Happy Fella [1] is a 1956 Broadway musical with a book, music, and lyrics by Frank Loesser (1910-1969) [2].

The original text

The story, about a romance between an older man and younger woman, is based on the 1924 play They Knew What They Wanted [3] by Sidney Howard (1891–1939) [4].
