The Master Builder is the English title for Bygmester Solness by Henrik Ibsen (1828-1906)[1]

The original play

First performed on 19 January 1893 at the Lessing Theatre, Berlin and in English at the Trafalgar Theatre, London on the 20th February 1993. First published in Norwegian in December 1893.

Translations and adaptations

Translated into English by William Archer in 1993.
