The Maid of the Mountains is a musical play by an Englishman, Harold Fraser-Simson and is based on the book by Frederick Lonsdale.

The original text

The Maid of the Mountains was originally called a musical play. It is a three-act operetta with music by Harold Fraser-Simson and additional music by James W Tate. Harry Graham wrote the original lyrics with additional lyrics by Frank Clifford Harris and Valentine.

Performance history in South Africa

The Maid of the Mountains was produced by the Port Elizabeth Musical and Dramatic Society (Pemads) and directed by Doreen Egan in the Port Elizabeth City Hall from September 15 – 20, 1952.
