The Knack
The Knack is a play by British playwright, theatre director and actress Ann Jellicoe. [1]] (born 15 July 1927). It is an ironic play about the male art of seduction.

The original text
The play was first presented at the Cambridge Arts Theatre, directed by Keith Johnson, before moving to the Royal Court in 1962, receiving mixed reviews with some dismissing it as a feminist or women's play.
Translations and adaptations
In 1965 the play, a major hit, was made into an award-winning film (among them the Palme d'Or at Cannes) starring Rita Tushingham.
Performance history in South Africa
1970: Presented by the University of Cape Town's Speech and Drama Department at the Little Theatre, directed by Mavis Taylor in November, starring, among others, Denis Bettesworth as Tom, Peter Krummeck, Annelisa Weiland, Bill Flynn.
