The House Under the Trees is the translation into English by Sue Robinson of a play in three acts (possibly W małym dworku (1921)) by Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz [1] (1885-1939).


The original text

First performed in Torun in 1923.

Performance history in South Africa

A production of the play at the Baxter Theatre was directed by Chris Pretorius starring Jacqui Singer, Johan Esterhuizen (courtesy of CAPAB), Chas Unwin, Susan-Jane Rome, Digby Dones, Jos Lewis, Clare Dembowsky, Charlton George and Judith Haumann. Date unknown, possibly in the late 1970s or early 1980s.
