The Good Soldier Švejk (/ˈʃveɪk/; Czech: [ˈʃvɛjk]), also spelled Schweik or Schwejk, is the abbreviated title of an unfinished satirical/dark comedy novel by Jaroslav Hašek. Based on the novel Neil McCarthy directed, reworked and designed a play presented by CAPAB in March 1986 with Nicky Rebelo as Svejk, also starring Diane Wilson, David Butler, Marthinus Basson, André Roothman, Willie Fritz and Marion Holm. Lighting by Malcolm Hurrell.
