The Fighting Cock is an English translation by Lucienne Hill [1] of L’Hurluberlu ou le Réactionnaire amoureux, a 1959 play by French dramatist Jean Anouilh (1910-1987) [2].

Performance history in South Africa

Produced by PACT in 1968. Directed by Kerry Jordan, the cast included Michael Atkinson, Dale Cutts, Siegfried Mynhardt, Jeanette Neale, Anne Courtneidge and others. The play opened on 25 September 1968 in the Alexander Theatre.
