The Electric Man is a play by Charles Hannan (Robert Charles Hannan, 1863-1922)[1]

The original text

A science fiction story, the play tells of a primitive Robot that is mistaken for the hero of the events, with farcical consequences. Apparently it was originally written as a three-act play and first performed November 1906 New Royalty Theatre, London - though not published. In 1910 it was reworked to a one-act version of the same name and published in London by Samuel French.

1907: The three-act version performed as by Leonard Rayne and his company in the Opera House, Cape Town.
