There are three stage works known by this name:

The Daughter of the Regiment is a drama in two acts by Edward Fitzball (1792-1873) First performed at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, London, in May 28th 1844.

Published by J. Dicks in the series Dicks' standard plays (no. 761) in 1883(?)

La fille du régiment[1] ("The Daughter of the Regiment") by Gaetano Donizetti (1797-1848)[2], a two act opéra comique[3]. It was first performed on 11 February 1840 by the Paris Opéra-Comique at the Salle de la Bourse.



Another play sometimes performed under the title The Daughter of the Regiment is Josephine, the Child of the Regiment, or The Fortune of War, a musical comedy by John Baldwin Buckstone (1802-1879)[4], partly based on the Donizetti opera.
