The Crow Family (1860s)

A song and dance act, most probably deriving from "Jim Crow", the extremely popular and influential song and dance act by Thomas Dartmouth Rice ()[] , or subsequent acts devised by Rice and his followers, The Crow Family was part of the repertoire of the Christy Minstrels when they visited South Africa in 1862.


The Crow Family (2017)

The Crow Family an Australian musical by by Maude Davey, performed by Davey and her partner David Pidd and their children, Alice (17) and Leo (10). The play pays homage to the traveling storyteller and tells of mankind's relationship to the remarkable living creatures all around. Directed by Ingrid Voorendt, the work features music from Australian rock legend, Peter Farnan and played at the Gasworks Art Park, Melbourne, in July 2017.
