The Cradle Song (Canción de cuna)(1911) by Gregorio Martínez Sierra (1881-1947), who was a Spanish writer, poet, dramatist and theatre director, a key figure in the revival of the Spanish theatrical avant-garde in the early twentieth century. The Cradle Song was adapted into a film in 1933.

The play was produced in the Little Theatre in Cape Town by Leontine Sagan for the UCT Speech-Training Department in 1943, featuring Elizabeth Hutton, Rosalie van der Gucht, Archie Foster, Graham Young, Nada Waterman, Maragaret Whyte.
