The Cosmorama was a diorama , as in the case of The Excursionist, painted by R.S. Cooper and probably presented with the narrative and songs provided by Alfred Ray, accompanied by Mrs Cooper.

Created some time late in 1867, for use by the Le Roy and Duret Company in their grand fête during the Agricultural Show held in the Government Gardens, Cape Town, in January 1868.
