The Cosmorama was a diorama , as in the case of The Excursionist, painted by R.S. Cooper and probably presented with the narrative and songs provided by Alfred Ray, accompanied by Mrs Cooper.

Created some time late in 1867, for use by the Le Roy and Duret Company in their Grand Fête held shortly after the Agricultural Show in the Government Gardens, Cape Town, in March 1868.
