The Complaisant Lover is a comedy by English novelist and author Graham Greene [1] (1904-1991). Consisting of two acts, each of two scenes the play revolves around an affair between Mary Rhodes and Clive Root, the book seller friend of her husband, Victor.

First produced on 18 June 1959 by Sir John Gielgud at the Globe Theatre London starring, among others, Paul Scofield.

Kushlick-Gluckman presented this play in South Africa in July 1960, with Taubie Kushlick directing Leon Gluckman and Marijke Haakman.
