The Blue Moon

The Blue Moon is a musical comedy in two acts credited to Howard Talbot (1865–1928)[1] and Paul Rubens (1875–1917)[2].

Telling the story of the love of a singing girl for a young British army officer and set in India during the days of the British Raj, the play opened and ran in London in 1905, starring Courtice Pounds, and was then played in the English provinces and in America and Australia.

The music for the play was composed by Howard Talbot and Paul Rubens, the lyrics written by Percy Greenbank (1878–1968)[3] and Rubens, and the book by originally written by Harold Ellis and revised by Alexander M. Thompson (1861–1948)[4].

The text was published in London by Chappell & Co., 1905.
