The Barber of Seville

The Barber of Seville is the popular English title used to refer to both the 4 act play Le Barbier de Seville, ou La Précaution Inutile (1775) by Beaumarchais and Rossini's popular opera, Il Barbiere di Siviglia (1816), which was based on it.
