The Art of Avoiding to do Military Duty was an anonymous one-man vaudeville performed, and possibly devised, by the comic actor Monsieur L. Victor of the Dalle Case Company.

It was performed in the Garrison Theatre by the Dalle Case Company on Monday 13 March 1848 as part of a full evening's entertainment including a "Grand Interlude of Music and Dancing"; choral dances by Mademoiselle Emilia and Madame Dalle Case, accompanied in song by Mr Russel; entertainment by the tiny Hamoy; seven tableaus of Ancient figures; a comic ballet called A Visit to the Military Prison...; and "An English Dance".
