The Amateurs of Cape Town was the name given to one of two amateur theatre companies active in Cape Town in 1853. This group was made up of private citizens (while the other consisted of the Officers of the Garrison) and was apparently a continuation of the English Amateur Company (1851-1853), and possibly also included members of Lycett's Company (1850 to 1852).
