Born Thabang Ashley Sidloyi in Gugulethu, but performed as Thabang Sidloyi.

He started off as a stage actor, inter alia appearing in Vukani – Wake up! by Sindiwe Magona (directed by Fatima Dike as a showcase or "try-out" for Artscape's fifth Spring Drama Season, in 2009) and an adaptation of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew, set in a contemporary South African setting (appearing as "Goba Msenge").
