Taurus Uitgewers (Taurus Publishers) was an underground publishing house.

It is often referred to simply as Taurus

It was founded in 1975 by the writers and academics John Miles, Ampie Coetzee and [[Ernst Lindenberg]] in the face of the censorship rife in the country in the 1970s-1980s.

The founders were later also joined by Gerrit Olivier, Tienie du Plessis and Hans Pienaar.
