Tante Trui, Een Liefdesgeschiedenis ("Aunt Trui, A history of love") is a popular Dutch one-act farce by Arnold (Nicolaas Arnoldus Wijnstok, 1830-1878)[1].

Also referred to simply as Tante Trui.

A popular name in Dutch, the word "trui" actually means "jersey" or "pullover"(also in Afrikaans), though it is more likely that the name "Trui" is here used as an abbreviated form for a full name such as "Gertruida".

The original text

Possibly based on the folksong Tante Trui en Tante Toosje

Published in Amsterdam by P.M. van der Made in 1862.
