Sweet Phoebe is a play script by Australian playwright Michael Gow [1].

The original text

The 1994 world premiere production starring Cate Blanchett was by Sydney Theatre Company under the artistic direction of Wayne Harrison. Other notable performances of the play include a 1995 stage production at the Croydon Warehouse also starring Cate Blanchett in her first stage performance in London.

Performance history in South Africa

1996: Presented by the Market Theatre and Moira Blumenthal Productions staged in the Barney Simon Theatre, 28 May - 29 June 1996, starring Stephen Jennings, Jennifer Steyn, designed by Denis Hutchinson. The director was Craig Freimond.

The production earned two Vita Award nominations.
