Biography

Born Susan-René Gustafson in the Durbanville area in 1980, she matriculated in 1998 and completed a a BA(Drama) degree in 2001 at the Stellenbosch Drama Department, specialising in the technical course.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

While a student at Stellenbosch she worked on a number of major departmental productions over the three years of her course, directed by prominent directors from the industry, including Jan and the Playstation (directed by Chris Vorster, 1999), The Crucible (directed by Blaise Koch, 1999), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (directed by Shirley Johnston, 2000), Macbeth (directed by Johan Esterhuizen, 2000), Vieux Carré (directed by Blaise Koch, 2000), Panty-mime (created and directed by Blaise Koch, 2000), Hoekom Strelitzias Nie Kan Vlieg Nie (directed by Johan Esterhuizen, 2001), SA Rock Alternatief (created and directed by Royston Stoffels, 2001) and Keely and Du (directed by Zoettje Hofmeyr, 2001).
