Written for the Rederijkerskamer "Streven Naar Volmaking" te Kommerzijl, in 1857 and published in Amsterdam by G. Theod. Bom, 1873.

Performance history in South Africa
1881: Performed in Dutch as in the Oddfellows Hall, Cape Town on 1 December by the Rederijkerskamer Aurora II, with Twee Gekken in de Klem, of Het Neefje van de Heeren Pompoen (T. van der Stempel).
