Worked for Hendrik Hanekom's Afrikaanse Toneelgeselskap, first appearing in Oorskotjie in 1928 and later in Onskuldig Veroordeel (lit "Innocently Sentenced"). Replaced in the latter play by Siegfried Mynhardt in May 1929.
