Southern Africa

Southern Africa is a regional indicator, mostly used to refer to the countries the southern countries in Africa, including Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe, etc.

Due to recent political and economic moves now generally referred to as the SADC countries (SADC = Southern African Development Community) in many cases.

Often, when dealing with cultural, political, economic and/or other activities, the adjective Southern African is also employed to indicate that the matter being discussed reaches beyond the borders of a single, or particular, country.
