[[Southern African]] is at times employed as an adjective when discussing cultural and other activities that reach beyond the borders of a particular country, espcially in [[South Africa]]. Often done for political reasons, to avoid the accusation of parochialism - especially so in the politically volatile 1970s and 1980s.
