As member of Volksteater in Pretoria she appeared in 18 plays for them between 1936 and 1942, including Die Wildsboudjie (Steyn, 1940), Maria Stuart (Schiller, 1941), Dagbreek (Wynand du Preez, 1941) for the Krugersdorp Municipal Dramatic and Operatic Society (Dir. Hermien Dommisse).
