Skyvers by Barry Reckord. First produced in 1963 at the Royal Court, London, directed by Ann Jellicoe.

Translations and adaptations

Adapted by Robin Malan to a version set in Woodstock, Cape Town and utilizing the local dialects entitled Skyvers/Jollers [Cape Afrikaans for “Skyvers”].

Performance history in South Africa

Skyvers/Jollers , was done at The Space (Cape Town) in 1972, adapted and directed by Robin Malan with his cast (Phillip Boucher, Awie De Swardt, Bill Flynn, Dawie Malan, Robin Malan, Lynne Maree, Peter Piccolo, Paul Slabolepszy and Helena Stockigt) Malan left and was replaced by Pieter-Dirk Uys after two weeks. Lighting Les Broer, stage management by Donald Fuller and Bee Berman.
