Simpatico is a play by Sam Shepard (1943-2017)[1].


The original play

A play about love, racing scams, blackmail, with three confidence tricksters and a horse called "Simpatico", the play opened at the Joseph Papp Public Theater in New York on the night of 14 November 1994.

Translations and adaptations

In 1999, it was adapted for the screen in the film Simpatico, co-written and directed by Matthew Warchus with Nick Nolte, Jeff Bridges, Sharon Stone, Catherine Keener, and Albert Finney.[2]

Performance history in South Africa

Produced some time in the 1990s, directed by Mark Graham.
