Shakespeare's People is a compilation of characters from the Shakespeare canon, devised by Michael Redgrave

The presentation, compiled by Redgrave, contained scenes from Shakespeare's plays interspersed with songs by various composers, arranged by Rod Willmott

The text was published by the Otago Theatre Trust as Shakespeare's People: a celebration of Shakespeare in words and music (1977).

Performance history in South Africa

1975 A visiting ensemble of British actors, led by Michael Redgrave and including Philip Bowen, David Dodimead, Rosalind Shanks, and Rod Willmott, toured South Africa with the piece under the auspices of Pieter Toerien. It was performed at the Johannesburg Civic Theatre and also visited Port Elizabeth, East London, Cape Town, Durban and Grahamstown.
