Saad ("Seed") is a play by Saartjie Botha (1972-).

A family drama that explores issues of land ownership, and the way ancestry and identity are linked to the land in South Africa.

Performance history in South Africa

2007: Performed by Vleis, Rys en Aartappels, the play made its debut in September at the Aardklop festival in Potchefstroom, directed and designed by Jaco Bouwer with Juanita Swanepoel, Altan Ungerer, Stian Bam, Jaco Bouwer, Nicole Holm, Marthinus Basson, Thembeka Sivanyana and Xoliswa Nkolose.

2008: Performed at the KKNK in Oudtshoorn in April and at the Vrystaat Kunstefees in the Sand du Plessis Theatre, Bloemfontein, in July.
