(1914-) Samuel Jonas Baloyi is a [[Tsonga]] author, playwright and translator.  His earliest work was of a novelette entitled ''Murhandziwani'' (1942), and this was followed by a historical drama entitled ''[[Xaka]]'' (1954 the first published Tsonga drama - also published by [[APB]] in 1960 and 1983), He did [[Tsonga]] translations of Booker T. Washington's ''Up from slavery'' as ''Ku Hluvuka ku Huma Evuhlongeni'' (1953) and Shakespeare's ''[[Julius Caesar]]'' ([[Savona]], 1957). (It is also listed variously as ''[[Julius Casaer]] or ''[[Julius Ceasar]]'' by some authors.) A second edition, revised by [[Charlotte Nkondo]], appeared in 1973,  published by [[Swiss Mission in S.A.]] in Kensington, Transvaal.
