(“Autumn [Reddish-brown] Leaves”) by H.A. Fagan. A one-act play about an older woman who comes to accept her age. First performed as one of two one-act plays by H.A. Fagan which made up the programme of the first performance by the Kaapstadse Afrikaanse Toneelvereniging (KAT) (of which Fagan was chairman at the time) on 11 May 1934 in the Koffiehuis in Cape Town, directed by Mrs Q. Fagan. The other was Ruwe Erts. Published in 1934 (in the collection Die Ouderling en ander toneelstukke) by **. Published in Die Lewe is ‘n Speeltoneel by Perskor; Rooibruin Blare en Ander Eenakters by Afr. Pers and in Die Ouderling en Ander Eenbedrywe by ??.

Fagan was awarded the Hertzog Prize for Drama in 1935 for Die ouderling en ander toneelstukke which include Ouderling, Ousus, Ruwe Erts and Rooibruin Blare.
