Started out at the East Rand Theatre Club.

He acted in Britain for six years before 1961. He worked at the Memorial Theatre at Stratford for two years, did repertory work all over England and appeared in BBC radio plays and as an announcer for over a year. He also appeared in Colombe.

He was kept in steady employment by PACT in 1966. Also worked for Academy Theatre.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He appeared in The Amorous Prawn for the September 1961 run playing the character Larry Hoffman.

Performed in Beyond the Fringe, Guilty Party, Long Day's Journey into Night (for NAPAC), Saturday, Sunday, Monday (for NAPAC), Dracula (for NAPAC) and in Hamlet (for PACT, as the Player King), David Bloomberg's production of Private Lives in Cape Town, Rookery Nook, Ring Round the Moon (PACT 1964), The Fantasticks, Fallen Angels (CAPAB 1982).

Other productions include After the Fall, The Beaux' Stratagem', The Affair, The Cocktail Party, The Crucible, The Devils, The Madwoman of Chaillot, Rashomon, Royal Hunt of the Sun, Romeo and Jeanette, The Winslow Boy, Uproar in the House, Say Who You Are, The Caucasian Chalk Circle, The Playboy of the Western World, A Sleep of Prisoners, The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail and Everything in the Garden.

He has appeared in many films, among others One Away with Elke Sommer, released in the late 1970s.
