Translated from the French into Afrikaans by Peter Blum.

Performance history in South Africa

1960: Produced in Afrikaans (Romeo en Jeanette) by NTO Kamertoneel in the Bellville Civic Theatre from 10 to 17 February. Directed by Suzanne van Wyk, with Joey de Koker, Babs Laker, Ria Olivier, Laurie van der Merwe and Robert Mohr. Decor by Frank Graves, costumes by Doreen Graves.

Produced in English (as Romeo and Jeanette, ) by PACT in 1963 (directed by Richard Daneel, starring Fiona Fraser, Bess Finney, Arthur Hall, Siegfried Mynhardt and others).
