Robert Davies. (19**-) Actor and director, best known for producing and directing films.

Biography

Training

He obtained a BA degree at the University of Cape Town, 1972.

Career

Began his acting and directing career both in South Africa and abroad.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

As a student he directed A Day in the Death of Joe Egg (1972) and Funeral Games (in which he also acted) at The Space for the UCT Dramatic Society.

He played Ferdinand in The Tempest at Maynardville in January 1973.

Directed the film version of Saturday Night at the Palace. Formed Davnic Productions with Lena Farugia.
