The Randse Afrikaanse Universiteit (English: Rand Afrikaans University, acronym: RAU) was the second university founded in Johannesburg and was established by an act of parliament as the academic home of Afrikaans-speaking students. It became a prominent South African institution of higher education and research that served the greater Johannesburg area and surrounds from 1967 to 2004.

In 2005 it was merged with the Technikon Witwatersrand and Vista University to form the University of Johannesburg.
